Parklife-Blur

The epitome of Britpop. If you have any affinity for Britpop whatsoever, you are now pogoing around your cubicle contemplating smoking a fag and eating some marmite. The annoying talky talky is somehow completely erased by the strum-dibbety-dum PARKLIFE. Too bad the DJ hosed fulsome on his karaoke. The Smiths “Panic” was not unreasonably requested during the course of the evening.

  • Looks like it is just me and I today. And forever.

The song kind of bored me, but I’ve never been a known Britpopophile. Feeding pigeons = lame.

  • well, right before you wake up dead tomorrow you’ll hear a burst of “PARKLIFE” (the backing) then it will all be clear to you.

Plus you haven’t commented on the last four songs!

  • I thought I had a connection to the UC but now it is all so much smoke.

All I can say is I’m impressed with UC because he must never have felt as directionless as I feel.

  • OK – that last comment was a little more angsty than intended. I’m really not a teen goth chick!

I do love this song and am grateful to the DJ for providing me an easy out for why that performance sucked. I would, overall, not recommend it as a karaoke choice.

That’s not true, PP. I did jizz all over the Dirty On Purpose, which is possibly one of my favourite CDs of the last few months.

OK, I’ve listened again, and I managed to get past the annoying talky talky and realized that the chorus is, in fact, amazing. Fulsome, have you got the new Yo La Tengo yet? I am going to see them at the end of September, but I’m very excited about I am not afraid of you and I will beat your ass.

  • I like smoking fags while sitting on the loo.
    Personally.

I also like putting my banger into buns and crumpets.
    As often as I can.
And, of course, there’s nothing quite like having a plonk with a butty either.

  • I liked the Great Escape album – but that’s mainly because its a lovely little condensed history of Brit-pop. There’s even a song that sounds like Eno.
