Eyes Are at the Billions-Cortney Tidwell

Your mind has just been blown by the Uncanny Canadian. Pitchfork gets their death sentence commuted for infinity for allowing this awesomeness to permeate your eardrum. This song will change your life. No it won’t, but it should, with it’s almost Sundays-ish intro, followed by a hazy fuzzy concussion bomb. You will become instantaneously and inexplicably sad when you hear it.

The song is supposed to be right here:

I’ve listened to this song 14 times in the last twelve hours. It’s not normal to need to keep hearing something that obsessively. I saw that Cortney is touring with Andrew Bird, but only in the midwest. That would be the most amazing concert. If anybody is in any of these cities on these following dates, please go to the show. Get a babysitter. Rent a car. Whatever it takes, it will be worth it:

04-11 Grand Rapids, MI – Calvin College (Ladies Literary Club) #
    04-12 Detroit, MI – Majestic Theater #
    04-13 Columbus, OH – Southern Theatre #
04-14 Newport, KY – Southgate House Ballroom #
    04-16 Nashville, TN – Mercy Lounge #
04-17 St. Louis, MO – The Pageant
    04-18 Urbana, IL – Canopy Club #

  • How does this get classified as Country?

I just got it from emusic, and listened to it for the first time. It’s kind of like a female Hayden, or a lo-fi Cocteau Twins.

    But it’s not Country.

  • She’s got a bit in common with The Mountain Goats.

  • I know, I saw that. She sounds like a Sundays/Beth Orton (production) cross.

  • It’s almost fun to disappoint Mr. Punko

  • The Missing Link is also a very good song off of this album.
